In the Metal Gear Solid series, why do Liquid, Solidous and Ocelot want to hunt down the Patriots?

Question from a reader – I know Solid and Raiden etc are after them because of the hand they’ve played in Metal Gear production and stuff, but I don’t understand Liquid’s crusade against them? Nor do I get why Solidous and Ocelot both turned against them after the Sons of Liberty incident?
